The Idaho Silver Belt Invitational coming to the Caldwell Events Center on February 18th.

The Idaho Silver Belt Invitational amateur boxing sponsored by the Caldwell Police Department in conjunction with the Caldwell Optimist Club will be held Saturday, February 18 at the O’Connor Fieldhouse in the Caldwell Events Center starting at 6 pm.


There will be 20 exciting bouts of amateur boxing; tickets will be available at the door. Children under 6 are FREE; youth 6-12, $5; Adults $10 and Floor Seating $15. Proceeds go to Caldwell Police Athletic League (PAL) and Caldwell Optimist Club.

Due to popular demand from competitors, Matinee Bonus Bouts will be held starting at 1 pm and all tickets for this special afternoon session will be only $5.

The doors will open one hour before the competition starts for the afternoon and evening session.

The January Dinner meeting was held at the Sunrise Restaurant at 6:30 P.M.
Program highlights:
Our Speaker was Kieran Donahue. He is running for Canyon County Sheriff. Kieran is a Detective for The Canyon County Sheriffs office and has worked for the County for 8 years. Kieran talked about the Gang and Violent Crime Unit that includes several local Police Departments. This unit is in conjunction with the Federal ATF Department. This allows the arrested to be tried in the Federal Prison System. They are targeting the Head people in the Meth Trafficking System. The Treasure Valley is a distribution point for the drug coming from Mexico.
Some More Notes:
A P.A.L Boxing meeting was held on January 23rd. We will be needing 52 volunteers for the Silverbelt boxing event on February 18, 2012. There will be a sign up sheet at the meeting next week.
We already have 7 members of the JOOI Club signed up to help out at the event.
The next Boxing meeting will be held January 31st at 7:00 A.M. at Mr. V’s
We still are looking for sponsors for the Silverbelt Boxing. These sponsorships need to be turned in by the end of January to get printed on the flyers.

The Optimist Regional Meeting will be held February 11, 2012 at Twin Falls. Don’t forget to sign up to attend this meeting. We would like to have a big showing of the Caldwell Optimist Club there. The meetings will run from 9:00 a.m. thru 4:00 p.m. at the Shiloh in Twin Falls. The Shiloh has a block of rooms for the Optimists.
After the meetings a few are going on to Jackpot Saturday Night. Sounds like fun. Larry is trying to block some rooms at Jackpot.

Caldwell Optimist Club Bulletin

The Lunch meeting was held at the Sunrise Restaurant at Noon.
Program highlights:
Our speaker did not show up. But we had a guest Molly Legge. Molly works with Abundance Behavioral Health Services, Inc. ABHS offers the following services:
Clinical Counseling, Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Service Coordination, Difficult dealing with Mental Health symptoms and Medication Management.
Some More Notes:
A P.A.L Boxing meeting was held on January 9th. We still are looking for sponsors for the Silverbelt Boxing. These sponsorships need to be turned in by the end of January to get printed on the flyers.

The Optimist Regional Meeting will be held February 11, 2012 at Twin Falls. Connie asked that as many members of the Caldwell Optimist to attend this meeting as possible.
